Education
I am currently a third year PhD student in Philosophy and Literature, hoping to finish up in the next year or so. Prior to that, I got my Master's degree in Philosophy and Literature from University College Dublin in Ireland, where I graduated with First Class Honours in 2011.
Experience
I have worked in education for the past several years. At the moment, I am working for the Champaign School District as an ESL teaching assistant. Previously, I have worked as an English instructor for the University of Minnesota's Upward Bound program, and have taught an Introduction to Communications class at Purdue University. Additionally, I have provided in-home, ACT, SAT, ESL, and English tutoring to many students.
Availability
Weekends in the afternoon, Weekends in the evening, Weekdays after 4PM

Hobbies
Teaching and literature are my passions. In addition to my years as an educator, I have run my own publishing company in St. Paul, MN and written a good deal of poetry and short stories. Needless to say, when you are pursuing a PhD in Philosophy and Literature, you spend huge amounts of time reading and that is definitely my favorite pastime. I also enjoy basketball and soccer. My favorite teams are the Golden State Warriors and Tottenham Hotspur. One quality that I make sure stands out in each of my tutoring sessions is my passion for teaching. I love meeting with students and helping them reach their goals. I take my students' success to be my personal responsibility and will celebrate each success with them (whenever I get the chance, I love to brag about the average 5 point improvement my ACT students see).
